Here is Eleonora & Rafal’s Wedding Story as told by Eleonora!

Rafael and I met in the summer of 2005.  I had just ended a 5 ½ year relationship so I was not wanting to start another one. But that all changed one night when I sent Raf an instant message on Plenty of Fish that went something like this, “Heeey! I know you!”  After that night, we ended up meeting up a few times. He was very persistent, never gave up and he was very patient.  Six months later, we made it official, we were boyfriend and girlfriend.

We FINALLY got engaged on May 9th of 2010 which was a few weeks before my sister’s destination wedding and Michelle, from Captured Soul Photography, was the photographer.

We were engaged for about 2 years before we started talking about how we want our wedding to be. To be honest, I had no idea where to even start or how much it would even cost! My sister suggested that we go to the bridal show at the Waterloo Inn, “just to look around”. I liked the idea of going to a local bridal show because a lot of vendors were local and that’s exactly what I was looking for. We had a lot of information, brochures and booklets including one from the Cambridge Mill. I briefly scammed through the information and immediately became interested. We set up an appointment with Cambridge Mill to have a tour of the building and I immediately knew that it was the place I was going to get married in. We didn’t waste any time, so we booked a day, August 2, 2013.

Then the dress shopping began. Crème Couture, formerly known as La Crème, located in Quebec Street Mall in Guelph, was where I purchased my wedding dress for approx. $2000 including the accessories (vale, head piece and belt). The bridesmaid dresses were also purchased there for $250-300 in a lilac colour. The guys wore a matching lilac dress shirt from Stars for $60.

We decided to have flowers made by From The Potting Shed who were located at the Cambridge Mill at the time which I found very convenient.  The package cost $2200 which included about 25 pieces.  The DJ we chose was Bil Copeland Disc Jockey Services for $650 who was recommended by Cambridge Mill.

The Cambridge Mill did an amazing job with our wedding.  The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.  Everything was right on time. The food was beyond amazing and the view onto the river was breathtaking. It’s a day that was full of beautiful moments that we will share and remember for the rest of our lives.

The next big decision we needed to make was our photographer. We didn’t have to do any research, we knew right away that Michelle was going to be our photographer.  We had such an awesome time with her in 2010 at my sister’s wedding.  She was fun, laid back and she knew exactly what she was doing! She knows how to capture the best moments that become cherished memories later on in life.  She captured the excitement and anxiousness during the “getting ready” stage. She captured the emotional walk towards my husband during the ceremony.  She captured the congratulations with all of our friends and families after the ceremony.  She captured the partying and dancing during the reception and finally, she captured my husband and I, for the first time at the end of the night. Such a beautiful moment to share and remember for the rest of our lives.
